Scheme Overview

The scheme aims to provide a monthly pension to Abandoned married women, mentally ill husband/wife & destitute unmarried women in the state. Under this scheme, beneficiaries receive a pension of ₹1,200/- per month, & in case of mental disability (spouse), the amount is ₹1,400/- per month.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.

The applicant’s family monthly income must not exceed ₹4,000/- or the applicant must belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.

The applicant should fall into one of the following categories:

- An abandoned/deserted married woman, or

5

- A mentally ill deserted husband or wife, or

6

- A destitute unmarried woman aged above 40 years.

***For abandoned/deserted married women:***

- Marriage duration must be more than 1 year.

- Husband must have been missing/absent for more than 1 year or must have deserted her.

- A self-declaration regarding desertion must be certified by the Gram Pradhan/Ward Member.

***For mentally ill deserted husbands/wives:***

- Must submit a disability certificate from a government hospital certifying the inability to earn a livelihood due to mental disability.

***For destitute unmarried women:***

- Must be above 40 years of age.

- Pension will be discontinued if the woman gets married.

Pension Amount: ₹1,200/- per month.

For Mentally Disabled ill Husband/Wife: ₹1,400/- per month.
