Overview
The scheme aims to provide a monthly pension to Abandoned married women, mentally ill husband/wife & destitute unmarried women in the state. Under this scheme, beneficiaries receive a pension of ₹1,200/- per month, & in case of mental disability (spouse), the amount is ₹1,400/- per month.

The "Deserted Women Pension Scheme" has been launched by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide a monthly pension to deserted married women, mentally ill deserted husbands or wives, and destitute unmarried women above 40 years of age residing in the state.

Eligibility Criteria
1. The applicant must be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
2. The applicant’s family monthly income must not exceed ₹4,000/- or the applicant must belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
3. The applicant should fall into one of the following categories:
4. - An abandoned/deserted married woman, or
5. - A mentally ill deserted husband or wife, or
6. - A destitute unmarried woman aged above 40 years.

8. - Marriage duration must be more than 1 year.
9. - Husband must have been missing/absent for more than 1 year or must have deserted her.
10. - A self-declaration regarding desertion must be certified by the Gram Pradhan/Ward Member.
11. ***For mentally ill deserted husbands/wives:***
12. - Must submit a disability certificate from a government hospital certifying the inability to earn a livelihood due to mental disability.
13. ***For destitute unmarried women:***
14. - Must be above 40 years of age.
15. - Pension will be discontinued if the woman gets married.
