The scheme “Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential Hostel” is an initiative under the Samagra Shiksha Programme, implemented by the Secondary Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide free hostel facilities to the children both boys and girls aged 6 to 18 years who are enrolled in nearby schools for formal education. There are a total of 13 residential hostels in Dehradun Baniyawala, Araghar, Jhadipani, Nabha House- Rishikesh , Haridwar Alipur, Laladhang, Mohitpur , Pauri Srinagar, Peethsain , Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar Gadarpur, Kashipur, Sitarganj .

Eligibility Criteria
1. Free hostel facilities are provided to boys and girls aged 6 to 18 years who:
2. - Belong to BPL families or whose family's annual income is less than ₹55,000/-, or
3. - Belong to SC/ST/OBC or minority communities, or
4. - Have one or both parents deceased, or
5. - Are children with disabilities, or
6. - Are ragpickers, beggars, or from urban deprived and weaker sections.
