Overview
Mission Shakti is a Government of India umbrella scheme (2021–26) for women’s safety, security, and empowerment. It follows a life-cycle approach via Sambal (safety) and Samarthya (empowerment), strengthening services like One Stop Centres, Women Helpline (181), and Shakti Sadans.

SAMBAL – OSC, WHL, BBBP, Nari Adalat. SAMARTHYA – PMMVY, Palna, HEW, WWH. 1. One Stop Centre OSC - at Rakholi in DNH, at Zari in Daman & at PHC in Diu. One Stop Centres OSCs are intended to support women affected by violence, in private and public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace and facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse, irrespective of age. OSC will facilitate access to - • Emergency Response and Rescue Services • Medical assistance • Assistance to women in lodging FIR/ NCR/DIR • Psycho-social support/ counselling • Legal aid and counselling 2. Women Helpline -181:- Toll-free 24-hours telecom service to women seeking support and information by connecting them with Emergency Response Support System ERSS for all emergency services like police/ fire/ Ambulance services and with One Stop Centres. The WHL will also provide information about government scheme/ programmes, like Dowry Prohibition Officers, Child Marriage Prevention Officers, and Protection Officers etc. 3. Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao BBBP : - To address concerns of gender discrimination and women empowerment in the country, the scheme aims to educate citizens against gender bias and improve efficacy of welfare services for girls. 4. Nari Adalat: - Provides women with an alternative grievance redressal mechanism at the Gram Panchayat level to resolve minor disputes through negotiation, mediation, and reconciliation. It aims for speedy, accessible, and affordable justice for women. 5. Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna PMMVY : - The benefit is available to a woman for the first two living children provided the second child is a girl. In case of the first child the amount of ₹5000 in two instalments and for the second child, the benefit of ₹6000 will be provided subject to second child is a girl child in one instalment after the birth. However, for availing benefits for second child, registration during the pregnancy shall be mandatory. This would contribute to improve the Sex Ratio at Birth and to prevent female foeticide. Eligibility Criteria • Women belonging to scheduled castes and scheduled tribes; • Women who are partially 40% or fully disabled DivyangJan • Women holder of BPL ration Card • Women Beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Jan AarogyaYojana PMJAY under Ayushman Bharat. • Women holding E-shram card • Women farmers who are beneficiaries under Kishan Samman Nidhi • Women holding MGNREGA Job Card • Women whose net family income is less than Rs. 8 Lakh per annum • Pregnant and Lactating AWWs/ AWHs/ ASHAs 6. Palna Anganwadi Cum Creche Centres :- To provide a safe and secure environment for nutritional, health and cognitive development of the children, thereby enabling more mothers to take up gainful employment. • Run in the existing AWCs • 2-6 years of age children enrolled at present • Timing 1:30 to 5:30 PM 7. Hub for Empowerment of Women HEW :- The goal of the HEW is to empower women by providing access to services such as • Healthcare • Education • Career and vocational counselling and training • Financial inclusion • Entrepreneurship • Social security • Digital literacy 8. Working Women Hostel: - To promote availability of safe and conveniently located accommodation for working women, with day care facility for their children. Beneficiaries • Monthly income not more than Rs. 35,000/- per month • Working women, who may be single, widowed, divorced, separated, married but whose husband or immediate family does not reside in the same city/area. • Women who are under training for job, provided the total training period does not exceed on year. 9.
