Overview
State Government is granting financial assistance in the form of Grant-in-Aid to a person having no employment under the Government, Public Sector undertaking, or under any local bodies may qualify to receive the grand suffering from fell disease.
Details
The Grant-in-Aid TB Scheme of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Mizoram, was introduced to provide financial assistance to indigent persons suffering from serious diseases. In order to regulate the grant of such assistance, the State Government framed a set of rules known as the Mizoram Health & Family Welfare Grant-in-Aid to Indigent Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Patients Suffering from Serious Diseases Rules, 1997, which came into force from the date of their publication in the Mizoram Gazette. Under these rules, Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes persons who are permanent residents of the State of Mizoram, whose family members are not employed under the Government, Public Sector Undertakings, or local bodies, and whose total family income from all sources does not exceed ₹2,000 per month, are eligible to receive the Grant-in-Aid, provided they are suffering from serious diseases.

• The grant-in-aid shall be made subject to the availability of found and cannot be claimed as a matter of right.
• The amount of grant-in-aid shall be limited to the actual cost of treatment and fare as per the cheapest route available subject to the maximum of ₹ 2500/- per head.

1. Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes persons permanently residing within the State of Mizoram
