Started in 2011, the scheme "Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram JSSK " by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, aims to provide free and cashless delivery, treatment, diagnostics, drugs, diet, and transport services to pregnant women and sick newborns/infants at public health institutions. It also aims to eliminate out-of-pocket expenses related to delivery, treatment, and essential maternal and child healthcare services.
