Description
The scheme aims to ensure the holistic and sustainable development of tribal areas and communities, building on the learnings and success of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan PMJANMAN . It focuses on addressing long-standing developmental gaps faced by tribal populations, particularly in remote and underserved regions, by adopting a comprehensive and need-based approach. A key feature of the scheme is inter-ministerial convergence, which ensures coordinated efforts across various sectors. Under this approach, 17 ministries of the Government of India work together to deliver benefits and services to tribal communities. Instead of isolated interventions, the scheme integrates resources, expertise, and programs from multiple departments to achieve greater efficiency and impact. The scheme identifies 25 focused interventions across critical sectors such as education, healthcare, nutrition, livelihood, infrastructure, skill development, and social security. These interventions are designed to improve the overall quality of life of tribal populations while preserving their cultural identity and promoting inclusive growth. Basic Infrastructure: Pucca houses, roads, electricity, solar power, and drinking water for all tribal households. Health & Nutrition: Mobile Medical Units, Ayushman cards, Anganwadi centres, and Poshan initiatives. Education: Construction of hostels, improved school access, and digital connectivity. Livelihood & Skills: Skill development, agriculture, fisheries, livestock support, and entrepreneurship promotion. Connectivity & Digital Access: Telecom 4G , BharatNet, and digital inclusion initiatives. Social Welfare: LPG connections, capacity building of Gram Sabhas, and FRA implementation. Tourism & Marketing: Tribal homestays and Tribal Multipurpose Marketing Centres TMMC .
