Description
The scheme “Uttarakhand Compensation Scheme for Women Victims/Survivors of Sexual Offences and Other Crimes, 2020” has been implemented by the Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority, Nainital, under the Department of Law, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance and compensation to women victims and survivors of sexual offences, as well as other women victims of crime in the state.

Benefits
• Women victims of crime are provided financial assistance/compensation ranging from a minimum of ₹3 lakh to a maximum of ₹10 lakh.
• Upon receipt of an application for compensation, the State/District Legal Services Authority may pass an order to provide immediate first aid or medical benefits free of cost to the victim/dependent, or an immediate relief amount of ₹5,000/- or ₹10,000/-, as required. This amount shall be disbursed immediately by the Member-Secretary, State Legal Services Authority or District Legal Services Authority.
• If a woman is a victim of sexual violence or an acid attack and is covered under more than one offence, she will be entitled to receive a consolidated amount of compensation.

1. The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
2. All women of the state/their dependents, who are victims of gang rape, rape, unnatural sexual assault, pregnancy due to rape, abortion or loss of fertility resulting from violence, loss of life, disability, physical or mental injury requiring rehabilitation, burns, or acid attacks, will be eligible to receive compensation under the scheme.
