Under this scheme, medals, official recognition, and service distinction are provided to the personnel serving in police, CAPFs, CPOs, and other public safety organizations.

The “Police Medal for Meritorious Service PM ” scheme has been launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, under Police-I Division. The scheme aims to recognize consistent meritorious service, professional excellence, and dedication to duty among police and allied forces. Under this scheme, medals, official recognition, and service distinction are provided to eligible personnel serving in police, CAPFs, CPOs, and other public safety organizations.

Eligibility Criteria
1. The applicant should be a serving police officer or personnel of CAPFs/CPOs.
2. The applicant should have a clean service record without major penalties.
3. The applicant should demonstrate meritorious and consistent service.
4. The applicant should have a minimum service of 18 years.
5. The applicant should have ACRs available for the last 10 years.
6. The applicant should have at least 8 Very Good or above ACRs; at least 1 should be Outstanding.
7. The applicant should not have any average ACR during the review period.
8. The applicant should have at least 1 ACR after the Non-Initiation Certificate (NIC) period (if applicable).
9. The applicant should not have more than 1 missing ACR.
10. The applicant should ensure the last year ACR is available.
11. The applicant should be physically fit and fall under SHAPE 1 category; relaxation to SHAPE 2 may be given in exceptional cases.
12. The applicant should not have more than 3 nominations (for Group A officers).
13. The applicant should not have adverse vigilance or disciplinary issues.
