Two significant eligibility criteria include being a resident of Goa for at least 15 years and being a full-time working journalist for at least eight years. The scheme is implemented by the Department of Information and Publicity. Every year, the Government will grant subsidies to purchase 65 e-bikes to 65 beneficiaries based on their years of working.
Exclusions
• Beneficiaries who have availed the benefit from any other such Government schemes shall not be entitled to this scheme.
Benefits
• Subsidy up to 50% of the value on quotation or ₹ 50,000/-, whichever is less, and the remaining 50% value shall be borne by the beneficiaries.
• The payment shall be effected directly to the beneficiaries upon receipt of the purchase of the e-bike document.
• The subsidy shall be disbursed in a single instalment to the beneficiary, i.e., 100% on the purchase of the vehicle and production of purchase documents, i.e., the Registration Certificate book and insurance by the Beneficiary.
• Disbursement of subsidy for the purchase of e-bikes will be done on a first-come-first-served basis or a maximum of two for each organisation per meeting, also considering eligibility criteria.
