The department conducts local training camps in all districts for various sports, including football, athletics, boxing, volleyball, hockey, badminton, cricket, wrestling, kho-kho, karate, kabaddi, wushu, taekwondo, basketball, handball, ju-jitsu, table tennis, lawn tennis, baseball, and sepaktakraw, with training provided at minimal fees.
The department operates Sports Colleges and Sports Hostels for sports such as football, athletics, boxing, volleyball, hockey, badminton, judo, and cricket, with admission provided at minimal fees.
A prize of ₹ 500/- is awarded for securing first position and ₹ 300/- for securing third position in state-level sports competitions.
