The scheme “Organising Sports Competitions and Training Camps” was launched by the Department of Sports, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote sports at the grassroots and state levels by providing structured training, organizing competitions, and developing sporting talent.

• The department conducts local training camps in all districts for various sports, including football, athletics, boxing, volleyball, hockey, badminton, cricket, wrestling, kho-kho, karate, kabaddi, wushu, taekwondo, basketball, handball, ju-jitsu, table tennis, lawn tennis, baseball, and sepaktakraw, with training provided at minimal fees.
• The department operates Sports Colleges and Sports Hostels for sports such as football, athletics, boxing, volleyball, hockey, badminton, judo, and cricket, with admission provided at minimal fees.
