For admission to the Canning and Food Processing course, the student must have passed Intermediate (Science/Agriculture) from an institute located in Uttarakhand.
For admission to other courses, the student must have passed Intermediate from an institute located in Uttarakhand.

The state has two Food Department Training Centres that offer one-and-a-half-year diploma courses in Canning and Food Processing, Bakery and Confectionery, and Cookery.
