Scheme Overview
The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to widows/dependents of soldiers & paramilitary personnel who were martyred in wars, border clashes, or internal security operations. Under this scheme, a one-time grant of ₹10 lakh is provided, subject to eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
The applicant should be a widow or dependent of a soldier or paramilitary force personnel martyred in a war, border conflict, or internal security operation.
> **Distribution Criteria:**
(a) In case the martyr was married:
- Widow (Veer Nari) – 60% of the grant amount
- Parents – 40% of the grant amount
(b) If the parents are not alive, then the full prescribed amount shall be given to the widow (Veer Nari) and where the widow (Veer Nari) is not alive then 40% of the prescribed amount shall be given to the parents and 60% shall be distributed equally among all the dependent children.
(c) In a situation where the parents and the widow (Veer Nari) are not alive, the prescribed amount shall be divided equally among all the dependent children.
(d) In a situation where the widow (Veer Nari) is not alive and has no children, the entire prescribed amount will be given to the parents.(e) In a situation where the martyr is unmarried or widower, the prescribed amount will be given to the parents.
