The scheme “Trekking Traction Centre Home-stay Grant Scheme” was launched in 2020 by the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand. Benefits
• Under this scheme, villages located within a 2-kilometer radius of the identified tracking traction center are eligible for benefits. For the construction of buildings with toilets along the identified routes, a grant of ₹60,000/- per room is provided. In cases where building repairs are required, a grant of ₹25,000/- per room is provided, for up to a maximum of six rooms.

Eligibility Criteria
1. This benefit is applicable only to villages located within a 2-kilometer radius of the trekking traction center identified by the Tourism Department, and these villages must be separate from urban areas.
2. There is no obligation to take out a loan.
3. The applicant must be a native of a village in Uttarakhand near the traction center and must reside, or intend to reside, with their family in the proposed homestay.
4. Guest rooms should be provided for a minimum of one and a maximum of six.
5. The homestay must be registered with the department, or if newly constructed, it must be registered upon completion.
