Description
The “Atithi Uttarakhand Home-Stay Registration” scheme has been introduced by the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand. It aims to promote rural tourism and generate local employment by enabling residents to register their homes as certified home-stays that offer safe, affordable accommodation and meal facilities to tourists in Uttarakhand.

• Under this scheme, any house owner in the state who wishes to make the residential rooms of their house available to tourists can register their home with the Tourism Department as a home-stay. After registration, the owner can provide night stay and meals to guests and charge a fee for these services. The main objective of this scheme is to offer accommodation and food facilities to tourists and to provide employment opportunities to rural residents at their homes.

Eligibility Criteria
1. For registration under this scheme, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) must be issued by the Development Authority/Local Body in urban areas, and by the Gram Pradhan in rural areas.
2. The accommodation unit must be entirely residential, and the house owner must reside there with their family.
3. There must be at least one and a maximum of six rooms available for guests/tourists.
4. The residential unit must have a toilet, should be clean and well-maintained, equipped with fire safety equipment, and built in a structurally robust manner.
