Scheme for Wage Compensation to Handloom Weaver Families

The Praja Sadhikara Survey is used to identify and enroll eligible handloom weavers for assistance under the scheme.

The entire process, from application to recommendation, must be completed by the end of August of the concerned financial year.

The White Ration Card is required to prove that the applicant is the head of the family and depends on the weaving profession for livelihood.

The Assistant Director receives applications, verifies them, and submits eligible cases to the District Level Committee for approval.

The assistance is disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the beneficiaries' bank accounts.

Mandal Level Teams, supervised by the Tahsildar and Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO), verify the applications.

Required documents include Weaver Photo ID Card, Aadhar Card, Ration Card, first page of the bank account passbook, and the applicant's mobile number.

Wage loss occurs due to oozing water in loom pits, dampness causing stickiness of warps, and damage to looms and raw materials in kutcha worksheds.

The relief assistance is [?]4,000 per weaver family per year, provided as [?]2,000 per month for two months.

Handloom weavers engaged in weaving, warping, and sizing, who possess a Photo Identity Card issued by the State/Central Government and are enrolled under the Praja Sadhikara Survey.

The objective is to provide wage compensation relief to handloom weaver families to help them overcome financial difficulties caused by unfavorable climatic conditions during the rainy season.
