Scheme Overview
Under this scheme, a Scheduled Tribe family receives 50kg of wheat or rice and cooking utensils from the Panchayat upon the birth of a child. In the event of a family member's death, the family is provided with 1 quintal of wheat or rice.
Eligibility Criteria
The beneficiary should be a native of Madhya Pradesh.
The beneficiary should belong to the Scheduled Tribe category.
The beneficiary should reside in a rural area.
No family member should be employed in government service (Class 1/2/3) or hold a high-ranking post.
The beneficiary must reside in one of the 20 identified tribal districts of Madhya Pradesh: Mandla, Dindori, Balaghat, Shahdol, Anuppur, Umaria, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Barwani, Ratlam, Hoshangabad, Betul, Sidhi, Seoni, Chhindwara, Dhar, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, and Sheopur.
**Note:** Benefits under the scheme are provided for the birth of the first or second child of the couple.
Benefits
The scheme offers the following assistance to Scheduled Tribe families:
**Birth of a Child:** Upon the birth of a boy or girl, the family will receive 50 kg of wheat and rice, along with cooking utensils, provided at the panchayat level. - **Death of a Family Member:** In the event of a family member's death, the family will receive 1 quintal (100 kg) of either wheat or rice.
**Note:** The food grains are provided to the beneficiaries free of cost.
