The scheme aims to boost Makhana cultivation by providing training to farmers and financial support for traditional equipment.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant should be a farmer.

The applicant should belong to any of the following districts of Bihar : Katihar, Purnia, Madhubani, Kishanganj, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, Saharsa, Darbhanga and Khagaria.

The applicant must have agricultural land minimum of 0.25 acres (0.1 ha) and a maximum of 10 acres (4 ha).

The applicant must be registered on the DBT portal.

- Women Participation: 30%.

> **Note 2:** The benefits of this scheme can be taken by ryot farmers on the basis of land documents and non-ryot farmers on the basis of contract form.

Benefits

**Training:** Workshops and training for farmers to adopt modern methods and improve productivity. - **Equipment Kits:** Grants of 75% of the cost (up to ₹16,575/-) for traditional tools (i.e. Auka, Ganj, Kara, Khainchi, Chalni, Chatai, Afra, and Thaapi used in Makhana cultivation).
