Description
“Makhana Vikas Yojona” launched by the Department of Agriculture, Bihar, is designed to boost the cultivation and productivity of Makhana in 10 designated districts of Bihar. It focuses on offering training to farmers and providing grants for traditional equipment used in Makhana cultivation and processing. The scheme is to be implemented in 10 districts of the state under Schedule 1, 2 and 3 of the approval order, namely, Katihar, Purnia, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Kishanganj, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, Saharsa and Khagaria.

Eligibility Criteria
1. The applicant should be a farmer.
2. The applicant should belong to any of the following districts of Bihar : Katihar, Purnia, Madhubani, Kishanganj, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, Saharsa, Darbhanga and Khagaria.
3. The applicant must have agricultural land minimum of 0.25 acres (0.1 ha) and a maximum of 10 acres (4 ha).
