"West Bengal Migrant Workers’ Welfare Scheme: Repatriation of Dead Body" is a social welfare scheme implemented by the West Bengal Migrant Workers’ Welfare Board, Labour Department, Government of West Bengal on 25th April, 2023. Under this scheme, if any registered Migrant Worker dies in the course of employment outside the State of West Bengal, an assistance of ₹ 25,000/- will be provided to the nominee of the worker for bringing the dead body to his/ her permanent address.
Exclusions
• No claim shall be admissible to the applicant in receipt of any other financial assistance of similar nature from the Government of West Bengal.

Migrant Worker
“Migrant Worker" means a person of the age between 18 to 60 years who is, by origin, a resident of West Bengal and employed in a remunerated activity in any State/Union Territories in India other than West Bengal.
