This scheme aims to instill a sense of self-reliance in the youth belonging to backward classes after receiving vocational education/training. Under this scheme, eligible youth are provided loans at a low-interest rate to start self-employment ventures.

Description
The scheme "Swayam Saksham Yojana" is implemented by the Gujarat Backward Classes Development Corporation GBCDC under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims to inculcate the spirit of self-reliance among socially and educationally backward class youth who have received vocational or professional training. Under this scheme, low-interest loans are provided to educated unemployed youth for setting up self-employment ventures like clinics, law offices, engineering units, and more. The initiative focuses on empowering beneficiaries to start independent businesses with financial assistance, promoting economic inclusion and entrepreneurship.

Eligibility Criteria
1. The applicant should be a resident of Gujarat.
2. The applicant should belong to the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC).
3. The applicant should be between 18 and 35 years of age on the date of application.
4. The applicant should be unemployed but professionally educated (e.g., doctor, engineer, lawyer, CA, etc.).
5. The total annual family income of the applicant should not exceed ₹3,00,000/-.
6. The applicant should have completed a professional course (degree or diploma).
7. The applicant should intend to start a professional business such as clinics, nursing homes, physiotherapy clinics, biomedical labs, legal offices, medical stores, architect offices, engineering units, C.A. offices, etc.
