The scheme “State Level Awards for Divyang Persons” has been implemented by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand, to honor the exceptional achievements and contributions of persons with disabilities in various fields. Under this scheme, a cash prize of ₹8,000/-, along with a medal and a certificate of appreciation, is awarded to outstanding individuals in categories such as disabled employees, outstanding sportspersons, and best self-employed service providers. The awards are distributed annually on the occasion of World Disability Day December 3 to recognize and encourage excellence among persons with disabilities.
