The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to children upto age of 18 years, including those who have lost both parents, those whose main earning parent has died, & children who have suffered due to violation of laws, child labor, child trafficking, child marriage & similar circumstances.

The “Sponsorship Scheme” is implemented by the Women Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to children up to the age of 18 years who are in need of care and protection. It is a centrally sponsored scheme, funded 90% by the Government of India.
Benefits
• Beneficiaries are provided assistance of ₹4,000/- per month till the age of 18 years, directly deposited into their bank account.

Eligibility Criteria
1. The child/beneficiary must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
2. Children up to 18 years of age belonging to families with an annual income of up to ₹72,000/- in rural areas and ₹96,000/- in urban areas.
3. Children who have lost both parents/guardians.
4. Children covered under the PM CARES scheme, children belonging to families that have lost their primary breadwinner.
5. Children in conflict with the law (CCL).
6. Child labor victims, child trafficking victims, children affected by child marriage, POCSO victims, children registered on the Bal Swaraj Portal, as well as other children in need of care and protection.
