Overview
Rythu Bandhu Farmer Group Life Insurance Scheme for Farmers” is a life insurance scheme by the Government of Telangana that provides insurance coverage to the nominee of a farmer in case of the farmer’s death. It is free for farmers and is implemented through LIC.
Details
Rythu Bima is a social security initiative of the Government of Telangana launched on 14th August 2018, aimed at providing financial support to the families of farmers in the event of the farmer's untimely death. The main objective of the scheme to ensure financial security to the families of deceased farmers by offering life insurance coverage for both natural and accidental deaths.

Eligibility Criteria
1. The applicant must be a farmer.
2. The applicant must be a resident of Telangana.
3. The applicant must be aged between 18 and 59 years.
4. The applicant’s details should be available in the Dharani database under RoR (Record of Rights) land records.
5. The applicant should possess a valid Pattadar Pass Book (PPB) or a RoFR (Recognition of Forest Rights) Patta.

Mandal Agriculture Officer (MAO) authenticates the data submitted.

LIC generates a unique insurance ID for the farmer.
SMS with LIC ID is sent to the farmer’s registered mobile number
