The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the families or dependents of Gram Pradhans, Kshetra Panchayat Pramukhs, Zila Panchayat Presidents, and all members of the three-tier Panchayat elected as representatives of the people, in the event of their death while in office.

Description
The "Panchayat Kalyan Kosh" scheme was introduced by the Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the families or dependents of Gram Pradhans, Kshetra Panchayat Pramukhs, Zila Panchayat Presidents, and all members of the three-tier Panchayat elected as representatives of the people, in the event of their death while in office excluding cases of suicide or involvement in criminal acts .

Benefits
• In the event of the death of a Panchayat Representative while in office, the following amounts will be provided to their families or dependents:
• Pradhan of Gram Panchayat, Pramukh of Kshetra Panchayat, and Zila Panchayat President: ₹10,00,000/-
• Member of Zila Panchayat: ₹5,00,000/-
• Member of Kshetra Panchayat: ₹3,00,000/-
• Member of Gram Panchayat: ₹2,00,000/-

Eligibility Criteria
1. The applicant should be a family member or dependent of a deceased Panchayat Representative.
2. Assistance is provided in the event of the death of a Panchayat Representative (Pradhan of Gram Panchayat, Pramukh of Kshetra Panchayat, Zila Panchayat President, or members of Zila Panchayat, Kshetra Panchayat, and Gram Panchayat) while serving in office.
3. Assistance will not be provided in cases of suicide or involvement in criminal acts by the Panchayat Representative.

• Applicant's identity proof
• Proof of relationship with the deceased Panchayat representative
• Ration card
• In case of accidental death of the Panchayat representative, provide a copy of the Panchnama, postmortem report, or a certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner
• Death certificate issued by the competent authority in case of natural death
• Certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat Secretary in case of the death of a Gram Pradhan or Gram Panchayat member, by the Block Development Officer in case of the death of an Kshetra Pramukh or Kshetra Panchayat member, and by the Additional Chief Officer for the death of a Zila Panchayat President or Zila Panchayat member
• Bank account details/bank passbook
• Certification record from the office of the elected person
• Any additional documents as required
