The "New Akanksha Scheme Higher Educational Loan " is implemented by the Gujarat Gopalak Development Corporation GGDC under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. Under this scheme, educational loans of up to ₹15 lakh are provided to students belonging to the Rabari and Bharwad castes from socially and educationally backward classes for pursuing higher professional courses such as medical, dental, engineering, pharmacy, etc.

Eligibility Criteria
1. The applicant should be a resident of Gujarat.
2. The applicant should be pursuing higher professional education such as Medical, Dental, Engineering, Pharmacy, or related course.
3. The applicant should have secured admission in an institution approved by AICTE, UGC, or any recognized university.
4. The applicant should belong to the Rabari or Bharwad caste from the socially and educationally backward class.
5. The total annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed ₹3,00,000/-.
6. The applicant’s age should be between 17 and 45 years.
