The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential School Scheme for Boys Class 1-8 is a centrally sponsored scheme launched in 2017-18. It targets vulnerable children like orphans, child laborers, street dwellers, and those with single parents, offering them free residential facilities to complete their primary education and reduce the male-female gap in education. The scheme operates in 52 districts with 100-bed hostels. Benefits include free stay, food, medical, books, uniforms, and daily necessities. 10. Children from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Ashram Schools that are at the primary level may also be admitted to the hostel.
11. Local resident boys shall not be admitted to the hostel.
