Description
The scheme "Nashamukt Gram Panchayat Puraskar Yojana Rules 2018" was launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, effective from February 16, 2018. The scheme aims to provide encouragement toward making the state drug-free, by annually awarding the "Nashamukt Gram Panchayat Puraskar" to one Gram Panchayat in each district that performs excellent work toward de-addiction, where resident youth, elderly, and women are living a drug-free life. The applications for this scheme are accepted by the Collector of the respective district.

Benefits

1. - The applicant must represent a Gram Panchayat of Madhya Pradesh.
2. - The applicant must submit their application based on work performed and achievements realized in the previous year.
3. - The Gram Panchayat must have one hundred percent (100%) of its population living a drug-free life after giving up intoxication.
4. - The Gram Panchayat must include all villages under its jurisdiction.
5. - The Gram Panchayat must have taken action under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act 2003.
6. - The Gram Panchayat must have provided treatment for habitual addicts by admitting them for medical care in De-addiction cum Rehabilitation Centers.
7. - The Gram Panchayat must ensure that students studying in all schools operating within the Panchayat area are motivated against and resolved not to consume intoxicants.

This application must be presented to the Collector of the corresponding district.
The Collector must examine the received applications within a period of one month. After the examination, the applications must be presented before the Selection Committee.
The Selection Committee, comprising the Collector (Chairperson), the Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, the District Education Officer, the District Coordinator/Assistant Commissioner (Social Justice Department), the Joint Director/Deputy Director of the Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department (Member Secretary), and an esteemed Social Worker, will select the outstanding Gram Panchayat.
The Collector must provide the award amount to the related Sarpanch (Head of the Gram Panchayat) for the Gram Panchayat within one month of selection for the award.
The award will be provided via Cheque, Bank Draft, or Real Time Gross Settlement (R.T.G.S.) and deposited into the Gram Panchayat's bank account.
The Certificate of Appreciation, which includes the description of the Gram Panchayat's outstanding work, must be presented during the ceremony organized on Republic Day.
