Description
The scheme “Mukhyamantri Samajik Sahayata Prakalpa- Old and Infirm" was launched by the Directorate of Social Welfare and Social Education, Government of Tripura. This scheme aims to provide financial assistance to poor people of Tripura who are old and infirm, such as senior citizens who are 60 years and above in age.

Exclusions
• Income taxpayers are not eligible.
• Government employees are not eligible.
• The individuals whose family members are already getting benefits under any of the Category/Sub-Category under ‘Mukhyamantri Samajik Sahayata Prakalpa' (except infirm & PwDs) are not eligible.
• Pensioners who are getting benefits under the “National Social Assistance Program (NSAP)” or the 32 State Social Pension Schemes run by the Social Welfare & Social Education Department, Govt. of Tripura are not eligible.

Definitions
Old
Old means Senior Citizens who are 60 years of age and above.

Infirm
Infirm means patients of Cancer/ AIDS and Leprosy (No Age limit for patients of Cancer/ AIDS & Leprosy). Diseases that will be covered under this sub-category are Cancer, AIDS and Leprosy only. No other diseases will be considered for assistance under this sub-category.

Benefits
• The pension amount of ₹2000/- per month will be transferred directly to the bank account of the applicant.
• NOTE: The list of beneficiaries will be made available on the official website of the Social Welfare & Social Education Department, Govt. of Tripura.

Eligibility Criteria
1. **For Old Applicants**
2. - The applicant should be a resident of Tripura.
3. - The annual income of the family of the applicant should not exceed ₹1,00,000/-
4. - The age of the applicant should be 60 years or above.
5. - If the family has children in the age group of 6 to 14 years, those children must be enrolled in a school recognized by the Government of Tripura.
6. **For Infirm Applicants**
7. - The applicant should be a resident of Tripura.
8. - The annual income of the family of the applicant should not exceed ₹1,00,000/-
9. - The applicant should be affected by Cancer/ AIDS/ Leprosy.
10. - If the family has children in the age group of 6 to 14 years, those children must be enrolled in a school recognized by the Government of Tripura.
11. **NOTE:** The assistance under this scheme will be stopped immediately in the following cases:

13. Fulfillment of any exclusion criteria during the lifetime of a beneficiary:
14. - Remarriage of a widow.
15. - A member of the family of the beneficiary getting a Government Job.
