Description
The scheme "Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme" was introduced in Bihar during the year 2009-10 as a part of the National Social Assistance Programme. The scheme is implemented by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Bihar. Under this scheme, a monthly pension is provided to persons with disabilities in the age group of 18 to 79 years who belong to Below Poverty Line BPL families to support them financially. This scheme is centrally sponsored. Objective: The objective of this scheme is to provide social security to persons with disabilities belonging to poor families of the society by providing them financial assistance.
