The scheme “Prawn Seed Stocking” is a component under the “To Increase Fish Seed Production and Inland Fisheries Resources in Tribal Areas” scheme, introduced by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims to increase fish production by rearing fish in reservoirs and provide employment to people involved in inland fisheries activities. Under this scheme, 100% financial assistance is provided to Scheduled Tribe lessees of reservoirs for prawn seed and transportation costs. Objectives: - To increase fish production by rearing fish in reservoirs and provide employment to people involved in inland fisheries activities. - To boost fish farming or fishing activities in fresh water bodies. - Fishing in reservoirs, aquaculture in ponds and catch from rivers increase fish production and boost inland fisheries. - The main objective is to provide employment opportunities to Scheduled Tribe fishermen in the state and increase fish production.

1. The applicant must be Individuals/societies/self-help groups/associations/reservoir monopolies/private units, etc., involved in inland fisheries activities can avail the benefits of inland schemes.
2. The applicant must be from the Scheduled Tribes.
3. The applicant must be above 18 years.
4. The beneficiary must have his/her own bank account.
5. The applicant must have an Aadhaar Card/Voter ID/Ration Card/Passport as proof of identity.
