Benefits
• **Under the scheme, the following objectives will be achieved by distributing verified seeds of local crops at 100% subsidy:**
• a. Distribution of certified seeds on subsidy to increase the cultivation area according to the specific region.
• b. Ensuring the recommended seed replacement rate is met.
• c. Enhancing production and productivity through the use of quality seeds.
• d. Promoting and encouraging the cultivation of local pulse crops.

• Seed production will be carried out by the Agriculture Department in clusters formed under the Traditional Agriculture Development Scheme, through the CLF/LC established under UGVS-REAP, and directly by the Agriculture Department. For crops where traditional clusters are not operational, clusters will be identified through CLF/LC for certified seed production. The Agriculture Department will conduct seed production programs in these areas, and the produced seeds will be distributed region-wise after appropriate allocation.
