Description
The Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, offers the NEC Stipend and Book Grant Scheme for Nagaland domiciled students pursuing higher professional courses. The scheme is open to Scheduled Tribe and General category students. The number of stipends awarded each year depends on fund availability. The scheme aims to promote national integration, global understanding, social responsibility, and encourage scientific, imaginative, and innovative thinking among students.

Eligibility Criteria
1. The applicant should be a permanent resident of Nagaland State.
2. The applicant should belong to Scheduled Tribe (ST) or General category.
3. The applicant should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the last qualifying examination if belonging to the ST category.
4. The applicant should have secured a minimum of 75% marks in the last qualifying examination if belonging to the General category.
5. The applicant should be pursuing a Higher Professional course approved by the North Eastern Council (NEC).
