The scheme “Mukhiya Mantri Protsahan Yojna” was launched by the Department of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh during the year 2013-14. Under the scheme, an Incentive/Award will be given to all those students of the State who are selected and take admission for a degree course in any Indian Institutes of Technology IIT or All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS or a post Graduate Diploma Course in any Indian Institute of Management IIMs . Indian School of Mines ISM Dhanbad at Jharkhand & Indian Institute of Science IISc at Bangalore, have also been added to the list of institutions eligible for award under this scheme w.e.f. 2014-15.

Eligibility Criteria
1. The student should be a native of Himachal Pradesh.
2. The student, who is selected and take admission for a degree course in any Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) or for a Post Graduate Diploma Course in any Indian Institute of Management (IIM) or Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad or Indian Institute of Science (IISc), is eligible to apply for award under this scheme.

Q: Do I need to get my Aadhaar Card to apply for Scholarship?
A: Aadhaar No. is not Mandatory for the Students in order to Register and fill up the application form online. Students can apply for Scholarships without entering the Aadhaar no. but in that case they have to enter the Aadhaar Enrollment Id. For the States of Assam, Meghalaya and Mizoram Aadhar Number is not mandatory

Q: Is there any permanent ID? How will it be communicated to me?
A: Yes. An Application ID (Permanent ID) will be provided to the candidate once his/her Registration is done. It will be conveyed to candidates through SMS and e-mail. Students should memorize their Application ID as it will be required while applying for Fresh/renewal scholarship.
