Description
The scheme “Mahila Dairy Vikas Pariyojana” was launched by the Department of Dairy Development, Government of Uttarakhand. It aims to empower rural women in Uttarakhand by promoting their active participation in the dairy sector through Women Milk Producers Cooperative Societies, enhancing milk production, and providing training, incentives, and awareness programs for sustainable livelihood development.

Benefits
• Under this scheme, by providing adequate resources to rural women through Women Milk Producers Cooperative Societies at the village level, their direct participation in the state’s economy is encouraged, making them socially and economically self-reliant.
• The scheme also organizes various training, incentive, and awareness programs for women members to increase milk production. These include training programs for secretaries and management committee members, women encouragement and motivational programs, seminars on clean milk procurement, and special women-focused seminars on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
• Under the women incentive program to increase milk procurement, first, second, and third prizes are awarded to the women milk producers who supply the maximum milk in the district.
