ICAR awards a certain number of Junior Research Fellowships for Postgraduate Studies course and research work leading to a Master’s degree, in different disciplines of agriculture and allied sciences. This is done to ensure the recognition of talent and promotion of merit in general, and for encouraging talented students to undertake higher agricultural education. The duration of the fellowship is two years. The minimum age limit shall be 19 years as of the date of the examination. Reservation of various categories such as SC/ST/OBC and PH etc will be given as per Government of India rules/instructions issued from time to time.

Benefits
• **Veterinary Sciences:** ₹ 12,000/- per month With a contingency grant of ₹ 6,000/- per annum. - **All disciplines other than Veterinary Sciences:** ₹ 8,640/- per month With a contingency grant of ₹ 6,000/- per annum.

Eligibility Criteria

2. ICAR-JRF (PGS) will be awarded on the basis of merit in the All India Competitive Entrance Examination for -
3. (i) ICAR-JRF (PGS), and
4. (ii) concurrent admission to Master’s degree program at -
5. a) State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), and
6. b) Deemed Universities viz. IARI (New Delhi) / IVRI (Izatnagar) / NDRI (Karnal) / CIFE (Mumbai) / AAU (Allahabad), Central Agricultural University (Imphal, Manipur), and
7. c) Central Universities having faculty of agriculture viz. Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Visva Bharti, and Nagaland University, collectively hereinafter referred to as the Agricultural Universities (AUs).
8. ***Eligibility***
9. Only those candidates having passed their Bachelor’s Degree or appearing at the Final Examination of the Bachelor’s Degree in the concerned field, under 10+2+5, 10+2+4 or 10+2+3 (only for basic science subjects) are eligible to apply for admission. (For admission, the eligibility requirement laid down by the respective AUs including remedial courses and tenure will be treated as final.)

Candidates must have obtained 60% marks or an Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of 6.60/10.00 or 3.25/5.00 or 2.6/4.00 for General, OBC, and Under Privileged States(UPS) categories whereas, for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) categories, the candidates must have obtained 55% marks or an OGPA of 5.5/10.00 or 2.75/5.00 or 2.20/4.00. The equivalence of OGPA to percent marks, where needed, will be certified by the Registrar of the concerned University
11. For admission in M.V.Sc., candidates must have completed B.V.Sc.&amp;amp;A.H. with internship before the date of registration in the University.
12. The minimum age limit shall be 19 years as of the date of the examination. No relaxation is admissible regarding the minimum age limit.
13. **Note 1:** Reservation of various categories such as SC/ST/OBC and PH etc. will be given as per Government of India rules/instructions issued from time to time. The responsibility of verification of the genuineness of SC/ST/OBC and PH certificates will solely rest with the concerned Agricultural University (AU) where the candidate has been recommended for admission or granted provisional admission.
14. **Note 2:** The ICAR-JRF (PGS) will NOT be available for admission in any university other than the AUs as mentioned above.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are different modes to apply for JRF?
A: Application Forms can only be submitted through online mode on the website https://icar.nta.nic.in.
The Application Form other than online mode will not be accepted

Q: Can I submit two application forms for two courses at a time?
A: NO. Only one application is to be submitted by a
candidate

Q: What documents or certificates do I need to upload along with the Application Form?
A: * Candidates need to upload scanned images of photographs, signatures, and thumb impressions, with the Application Form.
* No certificates are required to be uploaded along with the Application Form at the time of online submission.
* The documents/certificates etc., shall be verified directly at the time of admission in the admitting university.

Q: How can I pay Application Fee ?
A: Fee can be paid using SBI/Syndicate/HDFC Payment Gateway through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI. Candidates need to keep proof of fee paid.

Q: If I have made any mistake(s) while registering/applying, can I make changes later in the Application Form ?
A: Once the 'Final Submit' button has been clicked, the candidate's details cannot be edited/changed.

However, NTA shall open the rectification window as per the schedule and Corrections in particulars of the Application Form can be incorporated on the website only during Correction Window.

No corrections shall be allowed after the closure of correction window and all particulars entered by the candidate would be considered as final

Q: How will I get my admit card ?
A: The admit card will be uploaded on NTA website https://icar.nta.nic.in as per the schedule communicated through the website. Candidates need to check the admit card carefully for all particulars eg Roll No. Name, Subject Group, Date of Birth, Gender, Examination Centre Name, City, and Category, etc
