The “Food Bill Assistance for Medical and Engineering Students of Nomadic Tribes and Denotified Tribes” scheme was launched by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims to reduce the burden of living expenses for students belonging to the Nomadic Tribes and Denotified Tribes NTDNT communities who are pursuing full-time Medical or Engineering courses within the state. Under this scheme, eligible students receive a monthly food allowance of ₹1,500/- for up to 10 months each academic year to help cover mess or canteen expenses.
