The scheme “Construction of Minor Irrigation Projects for Scheduled Caste Beneficiaries” was launched by the Department of Minor Irrigation, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide Scheduled Caste farmers with free and adequate irrigation by constructing small irrigation projects such as water tanks and pipelines in Scheduled Caste-dominated areas, thereby helping them improve their farming. It is a 100% state government-funded scheme.

Benefits
• Under this scheme, farmers will be provided with free irrigation facilities. The following projects are constructed for collective irrigation in Scheduled Caste-dominated areas:
• Hauz (Water Storage Tank)
• Construction of Pipelines / Water Channels (Gool)

Eligibility Criteria
1. The beneficiary must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
2. The beneficiary must be a farmer engaged in agricultural activities.
3. The beneficiary must belong to the Scheduled Caste category.
4. Collective irrigation projects will be constructed under the scheme.
5. The name of the proposed village must be included in the list of Scheduled Caste-dominated villages issued by the Department of Social Welfare.
6. Sufficient irrigated area must be available for the project.
7. The cost of the project must not exceed ₹4.00 lakh per hectare, and the benefit-cost ratio must be greater than 1.0.
