The objective of this scheme is to award cash prizes to meritorious differently-abled persons (visually challenged students) who are studying in government and private schools of Puducherry and secure first, second and third rank concerning total marks in the SSLC and HSC exams.

The scheme “Cash Award to the Meritorious Visually Impaired Students Obtaining First Three Ranks at the State Level in the SSLC and HSC Examination" was launched by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Puducherry. The objective of this scheme is to award cash prizes to meritorious differently-abled persons visually challenged students who are studying in government and private schools of Puducherry and secure first, second and third rank concerning total marks in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate SSLC and the Higher Secondary Certificate HSC examinations.
Benefits
• A cash award of ₹20,000/-, ₹15,000/- and ₹10,000/- to the first, second, and third rank holders respectively.
Eligibility Criteria
1. - The applicant should be a Native/Resident of the Union Territory of Puducherry for at least 5 years.
2. - The percentage of the disability of the applicant should be 100% and above.
3. - The applicant should have studied in Tamil or English Medium.
4. - The applicant should have passed the qualifying SSLC & HSC Examination respectively.
