Description
The scheme "Balram Talab Yojana" was launched by the Farmer Welfare and Agricultural Development Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The scheme aims to support agriculture activities on a sustainable basis by conservation of rainwater in the field, enriching surface and groundwater availability. Only those farmers who have installed drip or sprinkler sets in financial year 2017-18 or thereafter and currently in operational condition will be granted approval for subsidized pond construction.

• The farmer who has already received the benefit of this scheme is not eligible.

• General category farmers receive 40% of the construction cost or maximum ₹80,000/- as subsidy.
• Small and marginal farmers receive 50% of the construction cost or maximum ₹80,000/- as subsidy.
• Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category farmers receive 75% of the construction cost or maximum ₹1,00,000/- as subsidy.
• The subsidy will be disbursed to the beneficiary based on the progress of pond construction.
• The subsidy will be provided within 30 days based on the evaluation by the Soil Conservation Staff.
• All conditions and eligibility must be verified by the Soil Conservation Survey Officer before subsidy benefits are provided.
• Before providing the benefit under this scheme, verification of the land will be conducted by the Conservation Survey Officer.
• From a security perspective, it is mandatory to install a board at the pond site to prevent drowning incidents. This must be installed at the farmer's own expense. In the absence of a board, if any accident occurs, the farmer will be solely responsible.
