Overview
Under this scheme, provide financial support to scheduled tribe (ST) students pursuing higher and technical education through stipends and book grants.
Details
The “Arunachal Pradesh State Stipend Scheme” was launched by the Department of Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Under this scheme, monthly stipends and book grants are provided to ST students to help them complete recognized courses without financial hindrance. Objective - The object of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to Scheduled Tribe students of Arunachal Pradesh so as to enable them to pursue various courses of higher studies approved by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Approved Courses List - BA / B.Com / B.P.Ed - B.Sc. - MA / M.Com / LL.B. / M.P.Ed / LL.M / MPMC / M.Ed - M.Sc. - M.Phil - Ph.D - B.Sc. Agriculture / Horticulture / Forestry / Fishery / BE / B.VSc - MBBS - BDS / BHMS / BAMS - Diploma Engineering / X-Ray Technician / Ophthalmic Assistant - B.Pharma / B.Sc. Nursing - D.Pharma - Laboratory Technician / ECG Technician - BCA - MCA - BBA - MBA - PGDM Communication - IT & HM Diploma - BFA - MFA - B.Ed - CA Chartered Accountancy - M.Tech
Exclusions
• The applicant must not be a recipient of another scholarship/stipend. If receiving another, the student must choose one.
Benefits
• Tangible Benefits:
• Monthly Stipend for the duration of the course (except vacation periods).
• Initial Book Grant for the first year.
• Subsequent Book Grant for the following years.
• Mode of Disbursement:
• For students within Arunachal Pradesh: Disbursed by the Head of Institution.
• For students outside Arunachal Pradesh: Disbursed via Demand Draft by the Sanctioning Authority to Heads of Institutions.
• Frequency of Disbursement:
• Monthly, except for vacation periods.
• Begins from the month of admission (if before the 20th of the month), otherwise from the following month.
• Conditions for Benefit:
• Continued only on satisfactory academic progress and good conduct.
• Stipend will be withheld or canceled for misconduct, poor attendance (<75%), or unsatisfactory progress.
• Not valid for dual/subsidiary courses (e.g., LLB with MA), correspondence, or distance education.
Eligibility Criteria
1. The applicant must belong to a scheduled tribe (ST) of Arunachal Pradesh, as notified by the central or state government.
2. The applicant must be a permanent resident of Arunachal Pradesh.
3. The applicant must not be in full-time employment.
4. The applicant should be pursuing a higher and technical education.
5. The applicant who has failed in the same class previously and was then re-admitted to a different course or stream at the same level of study is not eligible.
6. The applicant must not be under any disciplinary action.
7. The applicant must maintain at least 75% attendance each month.
8. The applicant enrolled in correspondence or distance education programs is not eligible for the stipend.
9. The applicant must be enrolled in an institution recognized by the State or Central regulatory bodies, such as UGC, AICTE, MCI, DCI, BCI, CCH, etc.

11. - If a girl student fails in a class, she may be allowed to receive the stipend once more for the same class, in the following year, with a specific recommendation from the Head of the Institution.
