The Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TS TET) 2026 official notification has been released by the School Education Department, Government of Telangana. The application window opens on November 15 and closes November 29, 2025, for teaching positions of Classes I to VIII. Candidates must apply online through the portal at schooledu.telangana.gov.in or tgtet.aptonline.in.​

The TS TET 2026 examination will be conducted offline (OMR Sheet-based) from January 3 to January 31, 2026. Both Paper 1 (Primary Teachers) and Paper 2 (Upper Primary Teachers) are available for eligible candidates. Admit cards can be downloaded starting December 27, 2025, and results will be declared between February 10 and 16, 2026.​

To qualify, candidates of the General category must obtain at least 60% marks, BC candidates 50%, and SC/ST/PH candidates a minimum of 40%. Detailed eligibility, syllabus, and application fee information are provided in the notification and information bulletin available on the official site.

Fee must be paid online via the official portal during registration.

TS TET Notification 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess a minimum of 50% marks in their 10+2 (Intermediate) and have completed D.El.Ed/B.Ed or equivalent teacher training (recognized by NCTE/RCI)

For reserved categories (SC/ST/PH), 45% marks required

Eligibility split by Paper 1 (Classes I–V) and Paper 2 (Classes VI–VIII); final year students of teacher training courses also eligible to apply.​​

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Two papers: Paper 1 for Primary level (Classes I–V), Paper 2 for Upper Primary (Classes VI–VIII)

Both papers consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), 1 mark each

Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

Subjects in Paper 1: Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies

Subjects in Paper 2: Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics & Science or Social Studies.​

Click on “Apply Online” and complete the registration form with valid personal, contact, and academic details

Upload scanned photos and documents as instructed

Pay the application fee online, select exam centre, and submit your form
