NIT Meghalaya Professor of Practice Recruitment 2026 Overview

Eligibility Criteria

• Eminent persons from industry or R&D organizations with minimum 15 years of technical, managerial or professional experience.
• At least a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Master's degree in Engineering/Sciences/Humanities/Management/Education or related fields.
• Ph.D. is desirable but not essential.
• Retired persons from industry/R&D organizations will be considered.
• Posts are not open for those in teaching profession.
• Candidates demonstrating ability to devote full-time service will be preferred.
• Highly acclaimed, motivated and dynamic industry personnel/academicians/professionals with excellent experience/research background, commitment and passion for quality teaching and potential for cutting-edge research.

Salary/ Stipend

• For Full Time Professor of Practice: Rs. 1,59,100/- (Rupees One Lakh Fifty Nine Thousand) only per month fixed.
• For Part Time Professor of Practice: Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) only per day for the days of academic/research participation at the Institute, excluding days of travel.

Age Limit

• Extension possible up to the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.

General Information / Instructions

• Duration of Assignment: Initially 1 year, extendable up to 3 years or up to age of 70 years, whichever earlier, based on performance and committee recommendation.
• Accommodation: As per Institute norms, subject to availability.
• No right or claim for regular appointment or continuance of the post.
• Institute has right to terminate positions at any stage.
• Candidates who have already applied need not apply.
