Essential Qualifications

Educational Background

• Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Polymer Sciences, or related fields from a recognized university or institution.
• Strong foundation in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, or materials science.

Desired Experience and Expertise

• Polymer Hydrogel Development: Demonstrable expertise in synthesis and development of polymer hydrogels with proven research publications.
• Polymer Composites: Experience in developing polymer composites and biopolymer-synthetic polymer composites.
• Advanced Characterization: Requisite knowledge of high-end instrumentation necessary for characterization of small organic molecules and polymeric materials (NMR, GC-MS, FTIR, SEM, AFM, TGA, DSC, etc.).
• Chemical/Polymeric Sensors: Expertise in development of chemical and polymeric sensors for environmentally relevant analytes, including but not limited to critical minerals such as rare earth elements.
• Publication Record: Experience and expertise in the above areas evident from a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Writing Skills: Strong written communication skills with proficiency in writing research manuscripts and grant proposals.
• Mentoring Capability: Capable of guiding and supervising research scholars at the pre-doctoral (Ph.D.) level in aligned research projects.
