Eligibility Criteria

Position Code A: Project Associate-II

• Essential Qualification: Masters Degree or Integrated Masters in Transportation Engineering / Highway Engineering from a recognized university.
• Desirable Qualifications: 1–2 years of experience in Transport Planning / Environment; knowledge of data analysis and statistical software.
• Maximum Age: 35 years (as on date of walk-in-interview).
• Salary:
  • Rs 35,000/- + HRA for candidates who have qualified CSIR UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET (including lectureship/assistant professorship) or GATE or national level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments (DBT/DST etc.).
  • Rs 28,000/- + HRA for candidates not having the above qualifications.

Position Code B: Principal Project Associate

• Essential Qualification: Masters Degree or Integrated Masters in Transportation Engineering / Highway Engineering from a recognized university.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of research experience in R&D in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and scientific activities and services.
• Desirable Qualifications: 1–2 years of experience in Transport Planning / Environment; knowledge of data analysis and statistical software; knowledge of GIS, simulation, vehicular emission.
• Maximum Age: 40 years (as on date of walk-in-interview).
• Salary: Rs 49,000/- + HRA.

Important Information

• Engagement is purely on temporary project staff basis; there is no guarantee of permanent employment after project completion.[web:1]
• Total cumulative engagement period in any project(s) at CSIR-CRRI or any CSIR laboratory shall not exceed 6 years.
• This is a walk-in-interview; however, shortlisting may be done if a large number of candidates appear.
• The final decision to allow a candidate for interview rests with the Director, CSIR-CRRI.
• Candidates pursuing PhD or other higher degrees must bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their institution.
• Candidates cannot be related to any CSIR or CRRI personnel as per relative rules, if applicable.

Selection Process

• Mode of Selection: Walk-in-Interview.
• Shortlisting: In case of large number of candidates, shortlisting will be done as per criteria fixed by the Selection Committee.
• Evaluation Parameters: Educational qualifications, relevant experience, research background, and performance in the interview.
• Final Selection: Merit-based as decided by the duly constituted Selection Committee.

• Original and self-attested copies of all educational certificates and mark sheets.
• Original degree certificate(s) from recognized university/institution.

• Valid identity proof in original (Voter ID card / PAN Card / Driving License / Passport / Aadhar Card).
• One recent passport-size photograph.
• Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates in prescribed format issued by Competent Authority.
• Disability certificate (for PwBD candidates) in prescribed format under Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016.
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) if pursuing higher degree (as per Annexure-II format, if specified).
• Completed application form (Annexure-I) for each position applied.

Important Instructions

• Only candidates possessing the essential qualifications are eligible to appear for the interview.
• No candidate will be allowed to appear in the interview without original certificates for verification.
• Age will be calculated as on the date of walk-in-interview i.e., 11-02-2026.
• In case of a large number of candidates, the Selection Committee may adopt shortlisting criteria.
• Candidates are encouraged to communicate in Hindi during the walk-in-interview, if comfortable.

• Total cumulative engagement period in CSIR projects should not exceed 6 years.
• Selected candidates must work full-time on the respective project and cannot claim permanent absorption in CSIR/CRRI.
